Golf Supports Our Troops fundraiser
A Golf Supports Our Troops fund raiser golf outing at Ridgewood C.C.

On September 8, 2008 we conducted a Golf Supports Our Troops fund raiser golf outing at Ridgewood C.C. in Paramus, New Jersey. Ridgewood C.C. hosted the 1935 Ryder Cup and the 1974 U.S. Amateur and a number of Major PGA and USGA tournaments including the 1990 U.S. Senior Open and the 2001 Senior PGA Championship. The September 8th outing took place just two weeks after Ridgewood hosted the PGA Tour’s Barclays Classic, the first event in the 2008 FedEx Cup. We were honored to welcome 7 recovering wounded veterans from Walter Reed Army Medical Center who played in the outing. This short video introduces one of these soldiers, SSG Ramon Padilla.
The Hawaiian Open in Baghdad
The Hawaiian Open in Baghdad
Golf Supports Our Troops helped to sponsor a golf event in Baghdad, Iraq for some of our troops at South Victory Driving Range which was crudely carved out of the sand behind a barrier dump in Baghdad. We were contacted by Lt. Cmdr. M. Max Estes (US Navy) and Col. Don Cousins (Australia) who asked if we might consider sending some of our military golf accessories as prizes and gifts for the competition. We were happy to oblige and sent 150 sets of our U.S. military ball marker sets as welcome gifts for all of the participants and some custom printed framed collections as "tournament trophies".

We named the tournament the Hawaiian Open because all of the troops wore Hawaiian print shirts for the competition. Everyone had a great time during the driving, chipping and ever popular ball toss competitions followed up by a Hawaiian luau consisting of grilled steaks and hot dogs. Lt. Cmdr. Estes sent us over 450 pictures from the day's events and we thought golfers throughout the U.S. would enjoy seeing some of these great images of our brave troops taking a brief break from the war to enjoy the game we all love. Enjoy the pictures and navigate our site to see how you, your golf club, your company, etc. can help to
Support Our Troops.
